Over 20 years ago, Desert States understood the need to have political representation in Santa Fe. Our current lobbyist, Charlie Marquez, is our well-seasoned and reasoned voice. The Desert States board and staff work in tandem with Charlie each year to determine an agenda.
Desert States has worked together with the APTA NM on a variety of physical therapy related pieces of legislation. However, most of Desert States legislative agendas have to do with small business issues. A few members of the Desert States board are also board members of a political action committee, NM PT PAC, which works side by side with Desert States and Charlie.
